Where Are We Planning?

This project focuses on developing Supplemental Safety Action Plans for two key areas: East Akron and Copley-Maple. Using data from the region’s High Injury Network, which identifies where the most severe crashes occur, the City is taking a closer look at specific corridors and intersections where safety improvements are most needed.

The roadway segments for Copley-Maple include:

  • Copley Road

  • South Maple Street

  • Diagonal Road

  • West Exchange Street

The roadway segments for East Akron include:

  • Lovers Lane

  • East Archwood Avenue

  • East Wilbeth Road

  • Kelly Avenue

  • Arlington Road

  • Kelly Avenue & Lindsay Avenue Intersection

Additional intersections and corridors within close proximity to the study areas will also be examined, including:

  • The Martin Avenue & 2nd Avenue intersection

  • The South Avenue & Diagonal Road intersection

  • Copley Road from Collier Road to St. Michael’s Avenue

  • Kelly Avenue from 3rd Avenue to Goodyear Boulevard
